A memorial in the center of Congo’s capital bears the remains of Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza, a French adventurer of Italian heritage who founded Brazzaville in October 1880.
Along the banks of the Congo River, a glittering white marble mausoleum created as a tribute to the city’s founder, Mr. Brazza, is completed with a museum, sculpture park, and enormous statue.
